Sweet Valentine’s Day Ideas for Couples at Home

Valentine’s Day is a special time to celebrate the bond between two people in love. If you’re looking for some ideas to enjoy with your significant other, there are plenty of ways to make it extra special without leaving your home. Here are just a few ideas that will make this year’s celebration unique and unforgettable.

Create an Indoor Picnic

An indoor picnic is a fun and creative way to spend quality time with your partner while getting cozy inside. Put together a spread of delicious food and drinks, grab a blanket, and find a spot in the living room or bedroom to set up the picnic. The important thing here is to set the scene so the mood will be just right. Add some candles or fairy lights and flowers around the area to make it extra romantic. Select the right mood setting music, or pick a movie you'll both enjoy.

Have a Wine & Cheese Game Night

Set up a romantic charcuterie board with cheese, crackers, nuts & fruit and pair it with wine or sparkling juice (whatever suits your fancy). Gather around the living room table with pillows & blankets for extra coziness. Put on some music. Choose a boardgame or card game to play. Choose games that work for two players like Off Topic, Codename: Duet, and Yahtzee. Or choose couples games like Monogamy, Talk Flirt Date, or Love Language. Another really good option is a customized game. You can make or buy custom Jenga blocks like the one shown at this link: Couples Jenga

Create an At-Home Spa Day

Pamper each other by setting up an at-home spa day! Pre-organize your spa treatments on a pretty tray. You may want to include fragranced massage oils, a wood roller, hot stones and face masks. Dim the lights and place scented candles around. Add rose petals for an uber romantic feel. Turn on soothing sounds. You can find soothing music playlists on any music streaming app. I like to use Spotify. Another idea is to draw a warm bubble bath for two with bath salts, rose petals or essential oils. Afterward you can relax in bed with a face mask and watch a good movie together.

Have a Romantic Candle lit Dinner

Bring back the 90s on this one! Set the scene like Nia Long in Soul Food when Bird got her Ex to hook Lem up with a job. Make it THAT sexy, minus the ex factor, plus a bomb ass home cooked meal. Plan your menu ahead of time. Pick a meal that he likes. Prepare it the way he likes it. Have a full course meal with starters, soup/salad, dinner and dessert. Have fresh flowers for your table centerpiece. Pull out the good tableware. Add some special touches. Dim the lights. Light candles, and wear something sexy!

Nine Easy to use Apps for Small Cash Advances

Photo by Yan Krukov   Cash Advance apps offer people the ability to borrow small amounts of money in the form of cash advances. Some may have additional features, such as credit-building, saving and budgeting tools, and bank accounts. Most require a monthly membership fee and/or service fees that will be deducted from your account at the same time as your advance repayment. You will need to have a bank account with direct deposit from your employer in order to use these apps. Here is a list of nine, no hassle, Cash Advance apps you can use to get from pay check to pay check. Before I list them, I want to advise against using these apps unless it is an emergency. These should only be used every once in a while. If you are having problems getting from paycheck to paycheck, there is likely a bigger issue at hand. I recommend going over your income and expenses and watching your spending, or getting a second job. Click here for the budgeting app that I use and how it

Trust

Years ago, before I was ever married, I remember asking a friend about trust. She was already married and had been with her husband for a few years. I asked her, "How do you know you can trust him? How do you have faith in him to do the right thing? Don't you ever worry he'll cheat on you?" She told me that you don't put your faith in your husband. You have faith in God. If your husband is doing something wrong, you trust in God to make it right. That conversation has always stuck with me. The bible says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; think about Him in all your ways, and He will guide you on the right paths." (NKV Proverbs 3:5-6). I took her words, my Bible, and six weeks of marital counseling with our pastor into my marriage. Still, after only three months, my husband was having an affair. I felt sick. I felt stupid. I felt betrayed. I was angry, and everything they told me went null and void. When y

Why is he Hiding You?

So you've been seeing this really great guy. You have the same sense of humor. You have a lot in common. You enjoy being around him and you're together all the time. He even calls you baby and gives you kisses on your forehead. Only problem is, he hasn't introduced you to his friends or family yet. He doesn't post you on his social media. He rushes you off the phone when he's around other people. Why is he hiding you? When you ask him he might tell you that he's a private person, that he doesn't like people in his business, or that he's not ready to "go public." This is not a good sign. There is a clear difference between a low-key relationship and keeping you a secret. Any relationship that has to be hidden is a problem.  Here are a few reasons he may be keeping you a secret (and none of them are good). 1. He's married or has another girlfriend This is the number one reason for a man to keep his relationship with you under wraps. Chances a
