Thursday Thought: Whom vs Who

“If the English language made any sense, lackadaisical would have something to do with a shortage of flowers.” ~Doug Larson Maybe it's just me but I still don't get why the words whom, whomever and whomsoever exist. Rule: Use the she/her method (or he/him) to decide which word is correct. That is, replace the who or whom with she and see if it makes grammatical sense. Choose who if the personal pronoun is in the subjective case (= I, we, he, she, it, they). Chose whom if the personal pronoun is in the objective case (= me, us, him, her, them). So which is correct? "Who/whom should I say is calling?" Rule doesn't matter, I still get it wrong at least half the time. The score from my Blue Book Quiz was 5/10 & I just took it today! What's your score? Take the Who, Whom, Whoever, Whomever Quiz ! From Grammer Goddess Seminars: Who / whom should I say is calling? Many people mistakenly say, "Whom should I say is calling?" By rewriting it slightly

Week 29 - At The Beach

Sandy Beaches by Morgan Swain

Sprinkle, squish between my toes, The smell of ocean to my nose. I can feel each grain of sand, It falls from air into my hand. The shells I find along the shore, Picked up by birds that fly and soar. They sparkle like the ocean's waves, And carry sand from all the lakes. I walk along the tip of the sea, That’s where my feet leave prints to be. I walk all the way to the end of the land, The land that holds this beautiful sand. © Morgan Swain

Week 28: Feet Week

Face Painting

Today was the second event that I did face painting for. I hadn't done this in years, but this summer a lot of people have asked me to paint faces at their parties. It's actually pretty fun. So today my daughter and I did some faces at our little cousin's 5th Birthday Party. This is me painting a princess crown on arm. The first steps to painting a tiger face. My daughter painting a clown face. Everyone wanted a butterfly. My Glorious wanted a Rainbow. The only thing I forgot was my mirror.

“A ship is safe in harbor, but that’s not what ships are for.” – William Shedd My thoughts right now : Life's to short not to explore other options. Staying in this spot is making me restless.

Being A Mom

Smiles, Looking into your sparkling eyes, Wiping your boo-boos When you cry. Combing your hair When you get dressed. I thank the Lord Because I am blessed. Nothing else has ever Made my heart rest Like being a mom. Written by: Juanita M. Harris Copyright 2007-All Rights Reserved Published in RIP-Rejection, Inspiration & Peace

Thursday Thoughts: Barbeque Bickering

"Discussion is an exchange of knowledge; an argument an exchange of ignorance ." ~ Robert Quillen It's July 2nd and my family still can't decide on the location of our annual 4th of July Family Barbeque. This happens every year, but this year it seems to be taking longer for everyone to just pull together. I don't think I need to say how frustrating that is. If they keep this up I may just take my children downtown and say forget it.
